Airventure 2012 – Day 2

Today we visited the Saint Louis Zoo. Not only is it an excellent zoo that brings you right up to the animals, but it’s also FREE. After the zoo, we headed over to the Saint Louis Gateway Arch and toured the the Jefferson Expansion Memorial Museum.

We capped the evening off with a surprise dinner with a friend from elementary and high school.

I’ve reviewed the NOTAM (again). I’ve filed IFR and made my e-STMP reservation in case the weather goes bad on us tomorrow. I’m prepared to cancel enroute and join FISK VFR Arrival. I’m ready to fly to Airventure 2012.

Hey it’s Sabrina. Today we crammed a whole lot in. We were able to see the Saint Louis Zoo which was a lot of fun. We were able to get really close to the animals, I even got splashed with water by an Emperor Penguin. We also road the Metro Link to the Gateway Arch, which was a lot of fun. The museum underground at the arch was very cool and the ride up to the top of the arch, although tightly spaced, was great. After the arch we were going to go to the Saint Louis City Museum where they have the Jungle Gym of Found Objects, no joke that is the name, but sadly they were closed after we finished at the arch. For dinner we went to Hannegins, an irish pub downtown, with a friend of my dad’s.

Tomorrow we will be flying to Oshkosh, where a week of camping will ensue. So, here we go.
